Technology Requirements for Online Courses

For all online students, it is required that you have access to an up-to-date computer system based on when you start in the online program. Because technology changes so quickly, it is important that your system configuration meet the standards for each year you are in the program. A current system will support Windows XP.

While Stevenson University requires a modem of at least 56k, a high speed internet connection is highly recommended. Internet access is a regular and fairly secure method of learning. Nevertheless, technology can falter. Thus, it is a good idea to be prepared with a backup plan should that happen.

Up-to-date web players are necessary to view content in online courses and any external sites the online course may use. As a result, the university requires that you download and install the most recent version of each web player and plug-in.

Stevenson University provides you with copies of the latest Microsoft Office and Visio Studio when you enroll in the online program. Upon request, you may also receive a Windows operating system. Make sure the computer you are using will support a minimum of Windows XP.
