ONLINE GRADUATE PROGRAM
Forensic Studies
Stevenson University’s Master of Science in Forensic Studies (MSFS) was approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission in May, 2004. Currently, Forensic Studies is the only fully online program, with the exception of a one time, one week residency. All courses, with the exception of FSCOR 701 – Mock Trial Capstone are fully online.
Courses were initially taught in an onsite format; that is, primarily in the traditional classroom setting with online support. Although the course descriptions, course goals and learning outcomes for the online courses are identical to the corresponding onsite courses, the learning strategies are different in order to take into account the different methods of delivery.
LIST OF COURSES OFFERED FULLY ONLINE
Fully online courses/programs are provided using the World Wide Web as the primary method of delivery. Using the web, students access the course through Blackboard, which provides for interaction with the course itself, any online course materials and information, as well as communication with the instructor and other students in the course. A textbook may or may not be required. Online courses are also known as web-based instruction.
Fully online courses expect that students spend a certain amount of time in the virtual (online) classroom instead of face-to-face classroom.
Currently, Forensic Studies is the only online program that is offering courses completely online.
